Fathom vs Fireflies.ai
Fathom and Fireflies.ai are both AI notetakers that record, transcribe and summarize meetings across Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and both are usually shortlisted on price. Fathom's free plan is the more generous of the two by a wide margin: recordings, transcriptions, storage, call downloads and clips are all listed as unlimited, with the metering falling on advanced summaries, Ask Fathom queries and automations instead. Its paid tiers are inexpensive by category standards, every plan carries a published 90 day guarantee, and its Business plan is the sales oriented one, adding coaching metrics, AI scorecards, Deal View and CRM field sync. Fireflies trades free storage for breadth. Its free plan caps team storage at 400 minutes and 20 AI credits, but the product claims transcription in over 100 languages at around 95 percent accuracy, runs on web, Chrome extension, desktop, iOS and Android, and adds conversation intelligence and team analytics on Business. From their published pricing in August 2026, Fathom Team is $15 per user per month on annual billing with a two user minimum, and Fireflies Pro is $10 per seat. Neither advertises a dialer or forecasting.

Fathom is the more generous free plan and the cheaper route to sales coaching features, while Fireflies claims wider language coverage and runs on more platforms, including mobile, which matters more for a mixed team than for a single sales pod.
Pick Fathom if
- The free plan has to carry real usage. Fathom lists unlimited recordings, transcriptions, storage, call downloads and clips on its free tier, with instant AI summaries.
- You want sales coaching without an enterprise contract: coaching metrics, AI scorecards, Deal View, Customer View and CRM field sync all sit on Business at $25 per user per month billed annually.
- You would rather capture without a bot in the meeting. Fathom offers a choice of bot free capture, described as a beta feature on Mac, or the traditional meeting bot, on every plan.
- You want to build on it: a public API, an MCP server and native ChatGPT and Claude integrations, plus a published 90 day guarantee on every plan.
Pick Fireflies.ai if
- Your meetings are multilingual. Fireflies claims 100+ languages at around 95 percent accuracy, with multi-language mode from the Business plan.
- Your team is on Windows or mobile today. Fireflies ships web, Chrome extension, desktop, iOS and Android, while Fathom lists a Windows build and an iOS app as coming soon as of August 2026.
- You want the lowest paid entry point: Pro at $10 per seat per month on annual billing, listed at $18 monthly, which adds video recording and downloads.
- You want conversation intelligence framed around calls rather than deals: talk time analytics, sentiment and topic trackers, plus Live Assist suggestions during meetings.

Fireflies.ai cons

- Conversation intelligence, team analytics and multi-language mode start on the Business plan at $19 per seat per month

Fathom's, for volume. It lists unlimited recordings, transcriptions, storage, call downloads and clips with instant AI summaries, and puts its limits on advanced summaries, Ask Fathom and Zapier or Make automations, with no team workspace included. Fireflies offers unlimited transcription and AI summaries on its free plan but caps storage at 400 minutes for the whole team, includes 20 AI credits, limits recordings to 2 hours and captures video at 720p.
From their published pricing in August 2026, ten seats on Fathom Team is about $150 per month at $15 per user on annual billing, or about $250 per month on Business at $25. Ten seats on Fireflies Business is about $190 per month at $19 per seat on annual billing. Two caveats: Fathom Team has a two user minimum and caps CRM syncs at 3 users per domain, so CRM field sync means moving up to Business, and Fireflies reserves unlimited storage for Business as well.
They frame it differently. Fathom's Business plan adds coaching metrics, AI scorecards, custom summary templates, Deal View, Customer View and CRM field sync that writes into specific CRM fields. Fireflies' Business plan adds talk time analytics, sentiment, topic trackers and team analytics, with Live Assist suggestions during the meeting. Neither advertises forecasting or pipeline analytics, and neither has a dialer of its own: Fireflies connects to phone systems such as Aircall and RingCentral, and Fathom does not advertise a dialer.
Fathom can. Its pricing page lists a choice of bot free capture or bot capture on every plan, with bot free capture described as a beta feature on Mac, and their what's new page lists a Windows build as coming soon, checked August 2026. Fireflies does not advertise a bot free capture mode; its notetaker joins the call on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other conferencing tools.
