VS
HubSpot vs Pipedrive
Both are CRMs sold to sales teams, but they are shaped differently. HubSpot is a customer platform whose sales product, Sales Hub, sits on a CRM that is free for up to two users and 1,000 contacts. Records, deal pipelines, sequences, calling, a meeting scheduler, task queues, dashboards and forecasting share one record system with marketing and service data, and Breeze, the AI layer, is metered with HubSpot Credits. Pipedrive is a sales focused CRM built around a visual deal pipeline, aimed at small and mid market teams rather than enterprise revenue operations. The core object is the deal, dragged through customizable stages with an activity attached to every card, an approach the company calls activity based selling. Paid tiers add two way email sync with open and click tracking, workflow automation and nurturing sequences, quotes with e-signatures, custom lead scoring and forecast reports, while lead capture, campaigns, projects and document tooling are sold as add-ons. The axis of choice is scope against focus, and how you prefer to pay for it: a platform where cost grows with seats, hubs, credits and onboarding fees, or a lower per seat pipeline where the missing pieces arrive as add-ons.

HubSpot is a platform you grow into, with marketing, service and reporting sharing one record system, while Pipedrive is a pipeline reps keep current at a lower per seat price, as long as you budget for the add-ons that fill out the rest of the CRM.
Pick HubSpot if
- Pick HubSpot if you want a usable CRM before there is any budget, since the free tools cover contacts, deal pipelines, email tracking, a meeting scheduler and the mobile apps for up to two users and 1,000 contacts with no expiry.
- Pick HubSpot if sales, marketing and service should share the same records, since sequences, calling, scheduling and dashboards sit on the same objects as marketing and service data.
- Pick HubSpot if reporting depth decides it, since 10 dashboards ship even on Starter and forecasting, advanced reporting and conversation intelligence arrive on Professional and Enterprise.
- Pick HubSpot if you want the CRM to be the system of record for everything else, given a very large app marketplace, documented REST APIs and webhooks.
Pick Pipedrive if
- Pick Pipedrive if adoption is the risk, since the visual activity based pipeline is the single most cited strength in Capterra reviews and reviewers repeatedly praise the minimal learning curve.
- Pick Pipedrive if you want a predictable per seat bill with no seat minimum, at their published July 2026 rates of $14, $39, $59 and $79 per seat per month billed annually.
- Pick Pipedrive if the whole team should test before buying, since the 14 day trial is full access, needs no credit card and lets you invite colleagues in.
- Pick Pipedrive if you need deals, tracked email and forecast reports rather than a platform, and would rather not pay for marketing and service capability you will not use.

HubSpot pros
- A genuinely usable free CRM tier, so the pipeline can exist before any budget does
- Sequences, calling, meeting links, tasks and deal stages live on the same records as marketing and service data
- Reporting and forecasting depth that few point tools match, with 10 dashboards even on Starter
- Very large app marketplace plus documented REST APIs and webhooks, so it is easy to make it the system of record
- Published security posture including a SOC 2 Type 2 report, a public SOC 3 report and an EU data centre option
HubSpot cons
- Reviewers consistently report that cost grows quickly with extra seats, hubs and premium services
- One time onboarding fees of $1,500 on Professional and $3,500 on Enterprise are mandatory in their published pricing
- Starter limits are tight: 3 email templates per account, 1 personal meetings link, 2 deal pipelines
- AI and enrichment run on metered HubSpot Credits, so usage costs sit on top of seat costs
Pipedrive pros
- Visual, activity based pipeline that teams adopt quickly, the single most cited strength in Capterra reviews
- Four clear per seat tiers from $14 to $79 billed annually, with no seat minimum
- 14 day free trial with full access and no credit card required, and colleagues can join the trial
- Marketplace of more than 500 apps plus a documented REST API and webhooks
- Rated 4.5 on Capterra across about 3,058 reviews and 4.5 on Trustpilot across about 3,430 reviews
Pipedrive cons
- Lead capture, web visitor tracking, email campaigns, projects and document tooling are paid add-ons on top of the seat price
- Capterra reviewers report that reporting lacks customization, advanced analytics and easy export
- Capterra reviewers describe search and filter options as unintuitive and fiddly to configure
- Custom lead scoring, lead routing and e-signatures start on the Premium tier
It flips depending on the tier. HubSpot is cheaper at zero, since the CRM is free for up to two users and 1,000 contacts, and Pipedrive has no free plan at all. In HubSpot's published pricing in August 2026, Sales Hub Starter is $20 per seat per month on monthly commitment, advertised at $7 per seat per month on annual commitment as a limited time offer for new customers, while third party listings show a $15 per seat annual rate. In Pipedrive's published pricing in July 2026, Lite is $14, Growth $39, Premium $59 and Ultimate $79 per seat per month billed annually, or $24, $49, $79 and $99 billed monthly. In the middle of the range Pipedrive is usually cheaper, since HubSpot Sales Hub Professional is $100 per seat monthly or $90 annual and carries a one time $1,500 onboarding fee, with Enterprise from $150 per seat plus a $3,500 onboarding fee. Check both pricing pages.
On HubSpot, the two to watch are the mandatory one time onboarding fees of $1,500 on Professional and $3,500 on Enterprise in their published pricing, and HubSpot Credits, which meter AI features and enrichment at $0.01 per credit beyond each tier's allowance. Buyers report the onboarding fees as an unexpected line item and reviewers consistently report costs growing with extra seats and hubs. On Pipedrive, lead capture, campaigns, projects, web visitor tracking and document tooling are add-ons on top of the seat price: LeadBooster from about $32.50 per month, Projects from about $6.67 per seat per month and Campaigns from about $13.33 per month, with several included from higher tiers.
Running two CRMs as the system of record is rare and creates sync work, so the usual outcome is choosing one and migrating. Where they do overlap during a transition, both connect through an automation layer: HubSpot lists Zapier, Make, n8n and Workato alongside its App Marketplace, and Pipedrive lists Zapier plus native workflow automation and webhooks, and both publish REST APIs and CSV export.
HubSpot includes built in calling, with 500 minutes on Starter and a power dialer on higher tiers, sequences that send up to 500 emails per user per day, conversation intelligence on Professional and Enterprise, and forecasting. Pipedrive covers calling through click to call and call logging plus telephony integrations such as CloudTalk and Kixie, adds quotes and e-signatures from Premium, and puts custom lead scoring and lead routing on Premium too. Reporting is the clearest split: HubSpot reviewers value the dashboard depth, while Capterra reviewers report that Pipedrive reporting lacks customization, advanced analytics and easy export. Neither advertises automated LinkedIn sending, and HubSpot's sequence caps make it a poor fit for high volume cold email.
