Outreach vs Salesloft

Outreach and Salesloft are the two platforms that defined sales engagement, and both are bought the same way, by quote. Outreach, founded in Seattle in 2014, now sells itself as an agentic AI platform for revenue teams: sequencing, Kaia conversation intelligence, deal and pipeline management, mutual action plans, rep coaching and AI forecasting, with named agents including Omni, Research, Deal, Revenue, Personalization and Meeting Prep. Its four Amplify editions publish AI credit and API call allowances rather than prices, and calling is a separate product, Outreach Voice. Salesloft, founded in Atlanta in 2011, is built around Cadence and now spans Rhythm for next best action, Conversations for call recording and coaching, Deals, Analytics with a Command Center, Forecast and the Drift chat agents it acquired in February 2024, with Conductor AI prioritizing work across the modules. It ships a native iOS and Android app, and since the merger announced in August 2025 it operates as the combined Clari and Salesloft. Both target mid market and enterprise sales organizations that already run a CRM. The axis of choice is what surrounds the cadence engine, and which vendor's roadmap and ownership story you are comfortable underwriting.

01The verdict

Two mature sequencing platforms sold the same way, by quote, that now differ mostly in what surrounds the cadence: Outreach leans on a published agent and credit model with first party calling, Salesloft on mobile, website chat and the forecasting reach of the combined Clari and Salesloft.

Pick Outreach if

  • Pick Outreach if you want some of the commercial terms written down before the sales call, since their pricing page publishes 10,000 to 100,000 AI credits and 250,000 to 1,000,000 API calls per edition even though every edition is quoted.
  • Pick Outreach if calling should be first party, since Outreach Voice publishes minute packages including a global package of 10,000 minutes for $300 per month per organization and $40 per additional 1,000 minutes.
  • Pick Outreach if the agent layer is the reason you are buying, since Omni, Research, Deal, Revenue, Personalization and Meeting Prep agents ship alongside an MCP server, an MCP client and an app inside ChatGPT.
  • Pick Outreach if procurement leads on compliance, given claimed SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and TRUSTe, SAML 2.0 single sign on, encryption at rest and in transit and a 99.9 percent uptime commitment.

Pick Salesloft if

  • Pick Salesloft if reps work from a phone, since the native iOS and Android app mirrors the web app and can run any Cadence step, enroll contacts and reply to email, while Outreach does not advertise a mobile app on the pages checked in August 2026.
  • Pick Salesloft if website visitors should feed the same pipeline, since Drift supplies live chat, bionic chatbots and conversational landing pages inside the platform.
  • Pick Salesloft if the integration surface decides it, with more than 200 integrations claimed on their channels page plus a published API, an App Directory and a Partner Marketplace.
  • Pick Salesloft if forecasting is the centre of gravity, since the merger with Clari puts forecasting and execution data under one company, with joint releases already shipping including an MCP server in April 2026.

05Pros and cons

Outreach pros

  • One platform covering sequencing, conversation intelligence, deal management, coaching and forecasting
  • Agent layer is shipped rather than promised, with Omni, Research, Deal, Revenue, Personalization and Meeting Prep agents
  • Strong published compliance posture: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SAML 2.0 single sign on and a 99.9 percent uptime commitment (claimed)
  • More than 90 integrations, plus an MCP server, an MCP client and an app inside ChatGPT
  • Calling is a first party product through Outreach Voice, with published minute packages

Outreach cons

  • No published prices at all, so cost cannot be compared without a sales conversation
  • AI usage is metered per edition, from 10,000 credits on Essentials to 100,000 on Pro, so agent heavy teams may need the top tier
  • No free plan and no free trial advertised on their pricing page
  • No owned contact database, prospect data comes from enrichment and integrations

Salesloft pros

  • Cadence is a mature sequencing engine with automations, AI email agents and a Salesforce sync built for large teams
  • Genuine breadth: sequencing, dialer, conversation intelligence, deals, analytics and forecasting in one platform
  • Native iOS and Android app that mirrors the web app, so cadence steps can run from a phone
  • Website chat and conversational landing pages included through Drift, acquired in February 2024
  • More than 200 integrations claimed, plus a published API, an App Directory and a Partner Marketplace

Salesloft cons

  • No published pricing of any kind, so cost cannot be compared without a sales conversation
  • No free plan and no advertised free trial
  • No owned contact database, so prospect data comes from a separate vendor
  • No native video step, video reaches a cadence through integrations such as Vidyard
07Questions

Neither publishes a price, so no honest comparison exists without a sales conversation. Outreach lists four Amplify editions, Essentials, Core, Plus and Pro, all quoted by sales on a per user basis with no platform fee stated, checked August 2026, and what the page publishes instead of dollars is the allowance per edition. Salesloft's pricing page shows packages without figures and directs buyers to a contact form and a 15 minute intro call, checked August 2026. Expect an annual contract quoted per seat and per module either way. The one published dollar figure across the two is Outreach Voice at $300 per month per organization for 10,000 global minutes plus $40 per additional 1,000. Check both pricing pages.

No. Neither advertises a free plan, and neither advertises a free trial on its pricing page as of August 2026. On both sides the route in is a demo request through the sales team, which makes a side by side pilot slower to arrange than in self serve categories.

In practice, no. They occupy the same slot as the sequencing system of record, both are sold per seat, and they connect to the same surrounding tools, including Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gmail, Outlook, Highspot and 6sense, so running both duplicates cost without adding coverage. The realistic decision is which one the CRM, reporting and rep workflow sit behind, and moving between them is a migration rather than a coexistence.

Outreach brings Kaia conversation intelligence with live transcription and battle cards, Agent Studio, deal management and mutual action plans, AI forecasting with scenario planning and territory management on the top edition, and Outreach Voice as a separate purchase. Salesloft brings Cadence with automations and AI Email Agents, Rhythm, Conversations, Deals, Forecast, Conductor AI, Drift chat and a native mobile app. The shared gaps are worth noting: neither advertises an owned contact database, neither advertises a native video step, and neither advertises automated LinkedIn sending, since LinkedIn appears as a Sales Navigator task type on Outreach and as an integration on Salesloft. Two events also belong in a 2026 evaluation: Outreach moved its website from outreach.io to outreach.ai during 2026, and Salesloft disclosed an August 2025 security incident involving Drift that CyberScoop reported affected more than 700 organizations through connected integrations, with OAuth tokens and API keys retrieved, in activity attributed to a group tracked as UNC6395.
